Creating an endowment is a great way to make your impact on Georgia Southern in perpetuity. Endowments are an investment that continues forever, keeping the principal you put in and allowing the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation to use the earnings on enhancing the student-athlete experience. Whether creating an endowment for scholarships or for another program, this is the gift that goes on forever and enables the department to plan for the future knowing we will always have these resources to impact our student-athletes in the way you designate. There are a couple ways to direct your endowment and have this huge impact on Georgia Southern Athletics:
Scholarships
Creating a scholarship endowment helps give the opportunity of an education to someone who may not have had the chance without the generosity of others. You can either give to our general endowment pool, or you can create a scholarship endowment with $25,000 or more in funding. If you create a fund, you are able to choose what sport you would like your investment to support and we will recognize your gift by naming the endowment after you or your designee.
Specific Funds
There are also other creative ways to support Georgia Southern Athletics through endowment funds. This could include endowing a coaching or staff position, creating an endowment to support a specific fund (like the Competitive Excellence Fund) or perpetually funding other areas.
